TEEN MASTERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHPS

The national championships promise to be an exciting and grueling test of bowling skill and mental fortitude. Our goal - to define America's top high school boy, girl and team!

All national finalists, including those who qualified through the Teen Masters Kegel Kup, will face the challenge of two USBC Sport-compliant oil patterns, rolling six games on a "long" pattern and six games on a "short" pattern. Twelve-game totals will determine the tournament's first cut, with the top 33% of the boys and the top 33% of the girls. The initial 12 games of competition will not count toward all 480 athlete's individual totals, but will also be used in to determine the eventual national champion of the inaugural Teen Masters Kegel Kup. The 12-game totals of each of the 50 Kegel Kup team members will be used to create a 12-game average for each team.

The 160 individuals who survive the first cut will advance to face an even greater challenge - mixed pairs of lanes on which the right lane is oiled short and the left is oiled long. After 6 more games (18 total), the top 32 boys and top 32 girls will be seeded (1 versus 32, 2 versus 31, etc.) into brackets for single-elimination, best-of-five match play. Five rounds later, the 2008 national champions will be crowned victorious, with the winning boy and girl each taking home a grand-prize minimum of $10,000 in SMART scholarships!

The Teen Masters Kegel Kup will see all 50 teams return to the lanes for 12 games of Baker-style competition, using the same format experienced in the regional qualifying events. Based on the 12-game team average from singles and the 12-game Baker pinfall, the top four Kegel Kup teams will advance to a very special championship finals. The victor will earn the title of Teen Masters Kegel Kup Champion and $15,000 in college scholarships!

In addition to the Teen Masters National Championships Singles and Kegel Kup competitions, the following will be offered during championship week in Las Vegas:

It's Killer 'B's Match Play Madness and it's open to any and all youth bowlers, whether they are in the Teen Masters or not!
